October is generally associated with the oncoming of fall, pumpkins, and Halloween, but did you know October is also breast cancer awareness month?

According to the American Cancer Society (2020), 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer, and among American women, it is the most common form of cancer. 

Breast Cancer Awareness is a very close cause to my family and I as it’s something our family has been impacted by for many years. My grandmother, Irene Thaler, started our embroidery business 62 years ago with my grandfather, and 14 years ago, she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

The awareness part is crucial because she was able to catch it early. Because she caught it so early, she was able to go through treatment, and in the last 14 years, she’s been able to watch her great-grandchildren grow up… She’s even been able to meet her great-great-grandchildren (Is that amazing or what!). We are so blessed to have her as a part of our lives simply because she took preventative measures and regularly went for her checkups. Precautions are very important.
